Meet Up #2

I attended my second Meet Up today and met lots of new people. This one was at the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden in Theodore Wirth Park. I can’t say that photographing wildflowers or birds really interests me, but in the effort to make friends, I forced myself to go anyways. It was okay – not many wild flowers were actually blooming, but I had a good time with the people that were there.

Dakota Friday!

Dakota and I checked out Lake Maria State Park tonight. ‘s practically in our back yard, but this is the first time we’ve ever been!

I kind of like the edited version better.

A couple others from around the park:

So. Much. Water.

The path was flooded! We’ll have to go back sometime this summer to check out what’s beyond the boardwalk.

Cruisin’

Dakota and I mowed the lawn tonight. I consider myself to be darn lucky that I didn’t have any troubles with the lawn mower this time around because Curt’s gone till….who knows when! No really, we don’t know when. He went to work today, they got him a one way plane ticket to Pennsylvania to fix a machine, and he left this afternoon. Lovely!

Anyways…Dakota likes to run along side the mower. You never know when we might find a ball hidden in the back 40!

I made a nice grass moat around the pool. Now I just need to figure out how to use the sweeper…

Ta-da!

More of my flowers are blooming!

My iris’ are growing (and then quickly dying…who knew those flowers didn’t last till November?!) Eventually there will be more than just purple in there…someday…maybe…:

And these thingers are coming up real nice:

And the surprise of the spring has been the columbine (at least, I think that’s what it is…). It was kind of the ugly, scrawny, twig that we planted. I had no idea it actually had flowers on it! And that the flowers looked really cool:

There’s also a peony that bloomed. Unfortunately, some of it has already started turning brown…

And then there’s the stuff I tried to grow in my whiskey barrel planters that appears to just be food for something…but I’m still holding out hope. Not much, but some…

Choo-choo!

It’s one of those nights where we’re just not doing a whole lot, so I set out to find something to photograph. Here’s what I found:

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day! Curt and I took a walk through Fort Snelling National Cemetery today.

Then we hiked a little bit around Fort Snelling. It wasn’t actually open, but we hiked some of the trails around it anyways!

Family time

I got to spend some time with my mom today (while Curt was doing physical labor in the heat and humidity). Then we went to my brother’s house to hang out with them for awhile. I just can’t get enough of this little peanut!

Lame

Here is the scene from the passenger side while hitting up the ATM…

She’s a Lefty!

We had a nice dinner with my mom, Adam, Maran, and Hailey tonight. We also determined that Hailey is going to be a lefty. She seems to grab for things with her left hand and her left hand has one hell of a grip. She hangs on so tightly that her little fingers turn white!

Hailey and Nana:

The Green Guy

We have a visitor in our pool. It’s up for debate whether he’s still alive or not.
